Hey guys thought this was too hilarious to pass up. We had an emergency to re-record the audio for a commercial we did for Northern Medical Specialty Plaza and this what it led to.
We drove up to Belize City from Orange Walk around 6:00 pm and when we got there had to do some last minute changes with the script. While waiting in the recording room everything was good then little by little we heard shouting on the streets, the clubs and bars in the area were blasting music and we were unable to record in the room. I guess a typical Friday night in the city. It was getting really late for us since we had to drive back to Orange Walk and the kids were at home sleeping. No we didn't leave them sleeping by themselves, grandparents were with them.
We came up with the plan that we could possibly record in the bathroom. Thus we tried it out and it was quiet enough. So to get a good feedback and no sound bouncing around in the room we got a mattress size sponge and placed in the bathroom and a keyboard box that was padded to help with the feedback.
It was getting real hot in there and that was because we were only setting up the stuffs for Helwa. Its a good thing I have a really nice wife who helps in every way possible and a true team player. She stood there in the hot bathroom reading her lines and thank goodness she's pretty good at it. Or else we would have been there for a while.
But anyways.. let me share a quick shot I got from that episode. Hope you all enjoy and i guess we gotta work towards a real recording studio, sound proof walls etc. haha.

Table Tennis Tournament

Hey guys just wanted to share a couple pictures of a table tennis tournament that took place in Corozal town. I was a little sad since i was unable to walk home with a trophy, but at least I came in fourth, which i think is pretty good for someone who doesn't practice as much as the other players.

overall it was a nice to do something different for a change. Need to start practicing some more especially since there is to be a tournament for the Belize Table Tennis Association in March. I hope i can boost my ranking higher. this can only happen if i practice.

Mexican Corn

It's been quite a while since we've seen this around. I think it was a couple years back when there was a couple who opened a little stall almost infront of the hotel Orchid Palm Inn. I remember walking over there in the evening after work or when I would go pick up Helwa, asking for two of the Corn with everything and one only the corn since Rashidah only eats the corn.

From I saw the crowd, i knew it had to be something interesting. Thus i investigated further and "bam see deh" it was Mexican Corn. lol. So i hurriedly parked the vehicle and went into the Hotel to get Helwa and we walked over to buy a couple. When i reached everyone was placing big orders of 5 corn or more. Seemingly the vendor had some order in the way she sold when crowded. She took their orders as how she saw them reach; being first come, first serve. After serving everyone she started counting and then told me there wouldn't be enough for us.

It was sad because we had to settle with the lousy picture i took of the corn

Well just wanted to share with ya'll that we have mexican corn back in town.

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama takes the oath of office to become the 44th -- and first African-American -- president of the United States. A deafening roar erupted among the estimated 2 million people gathered in Washington as he completed reciting his oath.

"Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time," Obama told hundreds of thousands of people gathered on the National Mall in front of the Capitol.

The new president, who hugged civil rights stalwart Rep. John Lewis, D-Georgia, upon walking on stage Tuesday, also hailed the civil rights movement.

"This is the meaning of [America's] liberty and our creed -- why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent mall, and why a man whose father less than 60 years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath," Obama said.

Wearing a navy suit and red tie, Obama was sworn in using the same Bible that was used in President Abraham Lincoln's inauguration.

Well i am proud to say that my little business seems to be prospering. I have now extended the business from Web & Graphics Design to a full Marketing Studio.

Time, Time, Time!

Its hard to find time these days to sit down and do all you need to do. At times you wish the day was longer, but when you think about it, you retract that thought because you want to take a little break or call it a day.

I try to write in my blog much more frequently; however, juggling everything i do throughout day i always tend to put it aside. Realizing that even when i try to manage my time its pretty much impossible due to unforeseen circumstances or whatever you had scheduled runs longer than you had anticipated.

Trying do websites, commercial production, promotional items, designing and printing, helping with the family, and other things like blogging, cleaning the house in preparation for christmas, trying to keep the yard tidy and putting up a fence, making the place feel like a real home.

I wonder, "am I trying to do too much?"

Time is just too short for everything that needs to be done. Even when you schedule everything out, it still isn't enough.

We were in chetumal to pick up some banners i had ordered and after that we had time to spare so we went to dominos pizza and started playing around with the table pieces that were there. We set it on Rafiq's head and he started laughing and having fun. so we took out the cam and started playing with him some more. So it was the H + R(cube) and the designs. My reason is that whatever I am doing is for the betterment of our family. Besides, I'm not the only one who likes these things. Helwa likes art on a whole too and if she has the time would play around with photoshop too. We taking note that Rashidah is coming up with that artistic

touch to her. She loves taking pictures and takes picture of anything with our camera. She is pretty good at it too..she knows to focus on her subject she is taking the picture of.. quite interesting being that she is 2 yrs old. Hoping Rafiq will be the same way too.

We've recently met more branches of the family tree. We met Garry and his family and had a nice time talking and relaxing at the pool. Garry, his wife and three sons all came for about a week to learn a part of their heritage . Although the time was short it was pretty nice. Its nice when you get to meet and keep contact with family. Thought a black and white portrait would work nice for a picture as such. Quality Time

This weekend was pretty cool. It began with us just chilling together on friday night after i got from city. Which wasn't bad because i had reached early being that i took the vehicle with me and had to return on time to pick up Helwa and Rashidah from work. On Saturday we cleaned up the house, i could say thoroughly especially our room and the hall, eliminating most of the dust that had accumulated for quite some time. That took us the entire day which wasn't really in the plans, because we wanted to go to the mexican side, Chetumal, to purchase some stuff for Rafiq.
After most the cleaning had took place, i decided to fry up about half pound of bacon which went down good with a nice cold corona or sol, whichever it was. Really hit the spot. Then we ordered a xl pizza with all the meat toppings, pineapple and mushrooms. Was pretty good too.
Then Sunday we had lunch at my parents with other family members. After we ate we decided to go to the pool and relax for the remainder of the day. It was on this day that Rashidah learned to swim on her own. Being so confident on her first day, that she told me,
"Just get out, get out daddy, don't hold me!"
was really cool seeing swim from one side of the pool to the other...as her confidence grew..she wanted to go more in the deeper areas of about 9 feet or so, however, not being able to take good care of her in such deep water i decided not to..due to my shoulder problem. Still haven't quite learn how to pop my shoulder back in place if it ever did come out of its socket when we're in remote areas.
Later on that same evening we met Gary and his family, who were pretty cool...we sat down and ate and had a really nice conversation, getting to know one another etc. They seemed to like the atmosphere of being in Belize and not so much in an American setting as they were used to. We ended the night short at about 8:30 pm because helwa wasn't feeling too good and she was drenched and couldn't change. Although she wasn't planning on swimming she couldn't help it once we were there at the pool...lol...all in all it was a fun filled, quality family time spent together. Looking forward to lots more

Shame on me! lol...it been an entire month already and this is my first blog for the year....I guess when you working for politicians and elections are right around the corner you hardly have time to do anything else.
I'll be glad when its over. I finally took a little time to write my first blog of the new year which basically states my status. Been really hectic with designs and work for the minister apart from which I have my business partnership in the city which consumes most of my time for now. At least I can say for now the little venture is coming along.
As it pertains to my family well Rashidah is doing great...although she's a little too smart which is a good thing but we love her very much. Also we have another addition to the family thats coming pretty soon and will be the last too.. Wasn't planned once more but it happened..So we preparing for that.
Looking forward to posting up some of the works I've done lately and try to get some reviews on those. I hope i can keep this trend up and post up a blog at least once a week. Until next week. Take care and keep blogging!

Well as we know Rashidah loves horses. They are her favorite pet and would not be afraid to walk by them or get rides on them. So for the september 21st. parade she was very excited when she saw all the horses. Her eyes wide open at the sight of all the horses, that she just kept looking at them as they passed all the way up the road until she could not make them out anymore. So after the parade had returned I said i'll take her to get a picture on the horse since I knew the owners. Thus i came up with this picture as you can see below.

Unreliable Public Transportation

Public transportation in Belize is very poor. The buses are very unreliable, there is no set time, no terminal and price for such transport fluctuates from $3 upwards depending on whose bus you are traveling on and last but not least a good percentage of these buses are what we term as dry weather bus.
I usually catch the morning bus on Tillett's from Orange Walk to Belize City, which has thus far redeemed itself as a good bus company; I guess thats why so many commuters prefer going on this bus even if they are standing or not. In the evening upon my return to OW I usually catch the same bus company because of the time I normally get off from work.
However; last week friday was different. I got off early from work and caught the 3:30pm bus. Just my luck as we got out from sandhill village into Biscayne the front tire got a flat. Even worse they don't carry any spare tire. So we had to wait for another bus to pass and try to get on any that would stop. A couple of them passed by without stopping and about an hour had passed when luckily the same bus i would usually catch in the evening stopped.
Got on the bus an paid a small fee again. But we got home in about 20 minutes which was cool, even though i had to stand all the way. At least I got to get home. But it just blows to know that we can't depend on buses for travel especially when most needed.

Rashidah's Airport & City Trip

We were up from early to make sure we were on time to go over to my peeps in order to take them to the airport. Rashidah was excited as usual to go to the airport to see the "big plane". "Grandma Yoli" was going to Canada for a convention after which she would join "Grandpa Mandy" and "Great Gran" in New Jersey. We reached the house on schedule and had time to spare, because as usual my peeps aren't really on time for stuffs..lol... so we decided to take a picture of Pookie before we hit the road. Just so you know...our baby loves taking pictures..once she would see the camera lying around the house, she would go for it and take it out of the case and ask us to take a picture of her. After that "Great Gran" was ready and sitting in the rocking chair relaxing, so we decided to take a picture of them both. Now usually we would have to ask Rashidah to smile for us; but, for some reason it was natural with this picture. As a result, it has become one the best pictures yet and so natural. This is the kind you enlarge and place in a nice big frame and place in the house. Any who, after that we started to load the pickup with the suitcases for the trip. Funny how only for two weeks vacation they take so much luggage..the entire back of the pickup was filled with 7 suitcases if i not mistaken. Once this was over with we were almost ready to leave. Final checks were made and we were off...after a couple miles of traveling Helwa decided to take pics of "Grandpa & Grandma" since we had gotten of "Great Gran" already. So as you can see there is Rashidah with both grandparents as she would say "Grandma Yoli & Grandpa Mandy". after the 40 minutes drive to the airport we were there a while with them and made sure they went into the waiting area. After which we decided to go to the city and get some of the famous "lee chee" chicken with steak sauce. After ordering two $4 dollars chicken with steak sauce to go, we went by the sea side to eat. After Rashidah was full and Helwa was finished, pookie asked to be taken outside to take picture. So sure enough Helwa took her outside and took a couple shots of her by the seaside. This was the first shot of her pointing to the sea. Which by the way she loves water too...hehe..what doesn't my baby love.. love's to swim.. but no we didn't put her in the yucky water. The sea water here in the city is too nasty and have too much things floating around...at the cayes and stuff yeah..but not in city.. lol...anyways..another pic was this one of her posing with mommy with the sea view as well.. it was pretty windy as you can see in both pics by the way their hair was.. It was a rather nice lunch..didn't have to leave the vehicle running... save on fuel. After having eating and relaxing just a little bit by the sea side and getting some sea breeze we decided to do a little shopping since we would be house sitting..lol. So we went to brodies the new one. What can we say its the best shopping store in the city thus far. Almost like if you go to one in the US. The best part was that Rashidah felt like she was the one who was shopping because they had the little shopping carts which was convenient because we came mostly to shop for snacks for her. So she got to choose what she wanted and placed it in her very own shopping cart. It was really cute how she was walking around the store pushing the little cart. After having gotten what she wanted. We got back to the vehicle and headed home. I guess she was exhausted by the day's activities that she was knocked out on our way back home. All in all it was a fun filled day and we got to spend a good time together as a family.

Mr Pappot Dead!!

Hey everyone...I know its been a while since i wrote anything....well anways..i start again..or lets just say i continue again....
Yeah Mr. Pappot is dead....I killed the poor parrot...Rashidah..doesn't really understand..so she no really miss him..only thing the other day she was askin for pappot...but just said pappot gone...lol
the thing is...I had him outside...the night....so it was all good..however in the morning...i heard him shouting.and making those irritable noise he used to make...and i remembered...so i went to feed him...and moved him to where the sun wouldn't hit him....he was all good...however after 1..when the sun changes position...i totally forgot about him...and i guess he got a heat stroke....and died...when i remembered about him it was already after 4pm...when i walked outside...i saw him...dead i guess he fell into his lil cup of water...with his head in it..."do u think he drowned himself?" hahaha...but yeah..poor birdy..he's dead...well at least maybe he's happier..might be free...wherever he is...

Experience with picking up A CAT!

Hehehehe...bet you all wondering what experience could i have with picking up a cat? Well this cat was different from all the rest. He was huge, very strong and really heavy...He was the type that would be able to run over you and do some good damage. He had these huge teeth in front and a tail that could scoop up a lot of things or knock things over..was nothing nice to play with...but anyways....let me get on with the experience....Oh sorry you want to see how the cat looks like? my bad....here he is...
hehehe..got u all huh...thought i was talking about a lil pussy cat...jejeje...nah...but anyways..this cat is fun to play with...move things out the way...knock over stuffs..bla bla bla...the works... although driving it for long periods on the rough road..is pretty boring...but the perks of being able to play with one of these babies is pretty cool...
When we were pretty small they would get us..those tonka trucks and we would all be like...when we grow up we want to drive some of those or have them to play with...well i am very fortunate ot be able to play with a couple of those vehicles and more. Due to my father-in-law's company with whom I had worked with for a while..These machine at the plant included the following in order of appearance starting left to right and going
down. cement mixer, PH crane, mower, jeep, toe-
head, with trailer, the forklift, the CAT (backhoe), bedford Crane, ATV, the famous, T-beam truck hehehe and most famous which we all would have at least used once in our life.. the wheel barrow... these babies are fun to deal with... jejej... anyways..back to my story...
yeah.. so while waiting to take the Cat home..we decided to go and dig up some dirt...after which...it was already like after 1 when we decided to have lunch at the farm...
so we started to take out the food stuff and made the fire on the fogon or whichever way u spell it..heated up the oil and started to fry the fish....as you can see below..my mother-in-law was frying the fish

Yeah...pretty cool huh...I guess for us people up north..or maybe through out...who knows...this is basically how things used to be back in days...the way of life...how things got done...
As you can see...the plaintains in the background...not that i eat it..but i noticed that practically everyone i am around...eats it..funny..maybe i had too much while i was young...I used to eat those things like bananas...so yeah maybe indeed i am tired of it...Well anyways...this is what we ended up with and i guess how people use to eat back in the days...in a plate kinda like this...but yeah..this was basically my
experience with going to pickup the backhoe from Honey Camp. My experience at eating like our great grand parents use to eat back in days...reliving the moment...jajaja Hasta Lluego....

Now that she got this parrot...she just can't seem to let him out of sight once she's around. She exchanged her doll for her "pappot" as you can see. She plays with him and tantalizes him untilhe gets frustrated and wants to peck her. At that point then she gets mad..and trys to either kick or hit him..kinda funny...but sin..cuz she would probably kill him with the stuffs she'd do to him if we wouldn't stop her... but anyways..just wanted to show everyone..Rashidah's nene...heheh

Replacing a broken pipe!

Who would have thought replacing a pipe was so much work and tiring. I guess i learnt it friday. It all started when I returned home with Rashidah and the nanny. I noticed that the marl outside the house was wet and all around as if though it had rained. Further inspection made me realize that water was all on the side of the house running all the way to the back, which led to the conclusion that somewhere along the way a pipe had broke and been spilling water all night long while we slept.
I dreaded the thought having to dig a drain so the water can run away from the pipes the having to replace the pipes under the blazing sun hot. Anyways..had to do what had to be done or else i would have to pull a sasquatch move, " no shower for a day or two" until the pipes were fixed. hahaha.
So i started digging and dug some more . I guess after two and half hours this is what i ended up with:
As you all can see it wasn't a lot of digging but hey the ground was kinda hard...a lot of stones...it did go a lilttle deep. I started digging at about 9:30 and took a break @ 11:30 cuz i was drenched in sweat and real tired cuz the sun was hitting. I know u see a shade that is because i took the picture till late in the evening for i thought Helwa had the camera with her. But anyways... i guess these are the things the people from BWS do on a regular and we don't even realize the amount of work they do. Besides they have the correct tools to do the job unlike me I had to adapt and use whatever i could have...lol..even Rashidah's sand castle tools...lol It really came in handy because if i had to use the big shovel that would mean i had dig lot more in order to get the shovel to pick up the dirt around the pipe
However as you can see I made good with what she had along with the tools i had and worked out perfect. Don't mind it tooke me a little longer but i got the pipe area cleared out enough for me to start cutting and stuff..
Ok so now that i had finished digging and water flowed through the drain i had dug. I waited a lil until all was almost gone...then i started contemplating as to how or where i should cut due to the joints the plumber had placed on it..made it difficult to only try to replace that joint. Thus I had to cut the entire joining area and do it over again.
note in the pic that the joint where it was broken was interlocking with the other two joining areas leaving me with no space to replace just that single joint. so i came up withe plan to cut off the entire thing and just make the same joints. Little did i know that joining the pipes away from the area made the one's i did not coincide with the way the others were set. Even worse i had already glued the parts together. It was depressing and funny at the same time... So now i had to cut the new joints i had just bought and replace a couple of them because they weren't lining up with the pipes already there. So now i had to go to the store again and buy 2 more joints and 2 3/4 elbows. Now that it was kinda messed up i had to come up with a way to make it go around using the elbows and joints for it to line up with the original position of the pipes. As a result this is what i ended up with:
I guess in a way I learnt that when replacing a pipe ensure that whatever you glueing is to the original pipes already layed out and not away from the work site. hehe...and if I can't do it..then get someone qualified to do it. I just hope it holds and i don't have to go back and be fixing anything..until next time...this was the tale of a broken pipe...ghehehe

Mr. Pappot!

Meet Mr. Pappot, this is Rashidah's newest pet. unable to pronunciate parrot as yet; she calls him "pappot". Pretty cool, the go almost everywhere together. Just wanted everyone to meet Rashidah's newest pet. Not the yellow head or scarlet macaw but does just fine...she's pretty happy with him. She loves animals. Her favorite are horses. maybe we should get one..but i guess eventually..cuz horses are a lot of responsibility. anyways peeps i guess u'll be seeing more of Mr. Pappot in other pics. but for now keep it cool.

Dislocated Shoulder!

The shoulder joint is your body's most mobile joint. It can turn in many directions, but this advantage also makes your shoulder joint easy to dislocate. A partial dislocation (subluxation) means the head of the upper arm bone (humerus) is partially out of the socket (glenoid). A complete dislocation means it's all the way out. Both partial and complete dislocation cause pain and unsteadiness in your shoulder. Your muscles may have spasms from the disruption, and this can make it hurt more. When your shoulder dislocates time and again, you have shoulder instability.

I guess i have shoulder instability..hehe...sucks!!! Last year my shoulder had gotten dislocated at least 7 times. Saturday 24th of February was the first time for this new year and believe me it hurt like a mofo. I guess I kinda use to the pain so I kind of handled it much better was able to get up easier than usual. At least this time I didn't have to wait over 3 hours until the chiropractor placed my shoulder back in place.

Funny thing is we were late for the wedding of one of my buddy and I was suppose to be the photographer. But I had made a commitment so after my shoulder had been placed back into position I got a short massage then we were off to the wedding.

Just wanted to share a little ordeal that had occurred with me over the weekend. This was the hype of the weekend..hehe...with some terrible pain though..you all should try it..pretty cool when you trying to touch your shoulder bone or the socket area and it ain't there...lol..

Anger Within!

The anger I have keeps building inside,
Why is there so much anger in me?
It must be controlled!
It must be tamed!
For I represent an end, end to lonely nights,
Happiness and dreams come true.

What is this anger, do I know?
I think it’s a human madness,
That consumes the heart, mind and soul.
Once unleashed pain and anguish reigns,
Becoming a roadblock to everything worthwhile,
I fight it constantly, for I know the destructions it hides.

I know this anger inside comes and goes,
These are the up’s and down’s in life,
That we all go through.
This is the darkness that dwells inside of me
That stifles my thoughts over and over again,
Anger is what I could do without!

Hello World!

Welcome to my blog spot. Finally got convinced by my cousin Leo, to make a blog and now it begins. Its been quite some while since I've written anything. At first, I would write poems about my life, feelings and especially to my girlfriend at the time, now my wife. At school enjoyed english, mainly due to the fact that I would write based on topics given or anything of my choice.
Come to think of it, maybe this is a good thing. Might do some good in my life to vent out my thoughts and feelings into writing again or just interesting findings or events happening around. Anyways, I guess this way we can all keep contact and know whats happening within the Rosado Family ( myself, my lovely wife Helwa and the apple of my eye Rashidah).
With this said, I look forward to get feedback from you my friends and be on the look out for new stuffs yet to come.
