Unreliable Public Transportation

Public transportation in Belize is very poor. The buses are very unreliable, there is no set time, no terminal and price for such transport fluctuates from $3 upwards depending on whose bus you are traveling on and last but not least a good percentage of these buses are what we term as dry weather bus.
I usually catch the morning bus on Tillett's from Orange Walk to Belize City, which has thus far redeemed itself as a good bus company; I guess thats why so many commuters prefer going on this bus even if they are standing or not. In the evening upon my return to OW I usually catch the same bus company because of the time I normally get off from work.
However; last week friday was different. I got off early from work and caught the 3:30pm bus. Just my luck as we got out from sandhill village into Biscayne the front tire got a flat. Even worse they don't carry any spare tire. So we had to wait for another bus to pass and try to get on any that would stop. A couple of them passed by without stopping and about an hour had passed when luckily the same bus i would usually catch in the evening stopped.
Got on the bus an paid a small fee again. But we got home in about 20 minutes which was cool, even though i had to stand all the way. At least I got to get home. But it just blows to know that we can't depend on buses for travel especially when most needed.

Haven't had problems with public transportation for a while. But tell me about it, we do have shitty services in this dutty place. 100 years and we'll upgrade to Greyhounds you watch.

I say always trust "Tillett's". Yah I totally agree we do have unreliable public transportation. I don't like traveling on buses, but sometimes its a must. I get a lil cluster phobic on buses after half hour of traveling. Its a real pain. No flats yet though, I hope not ever.
